The 2014 Joint Aquatic Sciences Meeting (JASM) to take place in May 2014 in Portland, Oregon will definitely generate a lot of discussion of the hydrological and biogeochemical functions of wetlands. Our group will contribute to these discussions by participating in session 065: Connectivity within watersheds: effects, functions & values of headwaters & isolated aquatic features. Genevieve will notably give a talk on “Wetland-to-stream connectivity patterns across an alteration gradient in the Prairie Pothole Region”. Other contributors to that work come from our group (current member Aminul Haque and former member Mike Chiasson) as well as collaborators from Ducks Unlimited Canada (Pascal Badiou) and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (Henry Wilson).
